Ding Dong, Doty Gone?

There is an interesting development that has me thinking that Doty will soon step back to faculty status.  Each of the senior professors in the department he will move to is being given a sabbatical, and quickly.  I think there have been 5 or 6 in the last 4 semesters.  This is being done to ensure he makes a soft landing there.

It's no secret on this board that I am in favor of this outcome, and that I think the second in command of CoB will move in and become a great Dean.  Others will come to see this too when the die is cast.  Monies will be spent on different projects, those that the faculty favor.

When did it become the College of Business (listed on web site) rather than the College of Business and Economic Development?

What information do you have?  I guess it remains to be seen, but I don't believe it will play out as you do.

How in the world do you make the connection that sabbaticals connect to a "soft landing" back in the Management and Marketing Dept. (Doty's area)?  The university controls sabbiticals (and everything else).  What kind of conspiracy thinking is this?  Doty is going nowhere.

About the same time we began to call CoEP the College of Education rather than the College of Education and Psychology?

About the same time the university found out the College of Business would lose it's accreditation if the Economic Development program was not dumped. As I recall, part of the program was moved the College of Science and Technology, and the other part was moved into the department of political science.

Is the program being thrown around like a hot potato?
