Business contact said that Thames addressed local prayer breakfast this morning saying some big things are coming at USM soon. Asked group for their support in the coming weeks. His guess was athletics was the unnamed thing, mostly.
So in ThamesWorld, ST isn't doing anything wrong? God hasn't taken him aside for a Special Revelation? Sheesh. Yo, Shorty. That dusty book in the back of your bookcase, yeah, that one. He's done spoke. Note especially section commonly known as "Ten Commandments." Note especially "Thou shalt not bear false witness. . . " and we won't even start with the adultery stuff.
God spoke alright, but Shelb always thinks the rules are for other people.
I have never been able to figure out why people who are fairly familiar with scripture otherwise, seem totally oblivious to the words of the Christ in His preamble to the model prayer:
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:5-6
Is there some distinction between the Convention Center and the synagogue?

Or this thing from SFT's letter of 11/4/05:
"Progress continues on the Center for Innovation and Commercialization. This is an exciting initiative that will provide revolutionary economic development that will impact the university, our city and state and far beyond. Look for much more to come about this important, massive project in the days to come."

Oh, Shelboo's had lots of big projicks; remember this one: --* Finally, there is, or should we say was, "The Varsity Voice." For those of you out of the loop, "The Varsity Voice" was an SGA publication, pushing the "third side" view of news at USM. With a budget upwards of $40,000 set aside for communication projects, including a website, the SGA began printing the magazine-type publication. After releasing only six issues, "The Varsity Voice" disappeared from news racks across campus.--
It was vintage SFT, flailing grandiloquently at his enemy du jour, The Printz, then watching his effort fizzle and fade. I mainly remember the "Varsity" as an unadorned propaganda organ for the agenda of the cabal, including an issue devoted almost entirely to promoting the candidacy of George W. Arbusto. The cute little racks are, by the way, still scattered around campus. I smile every time I see one--empty, like the plans of the cabal.
If we're looking for an important, massive project, I have a suggestion. Let's cut down every pine tree in strike distance of a building. Then --
Maybe we could put a pulp mill on this exciting site? (That's a joke).
Maybe we could manufacture wood pellets for use in pellet stoves like the ones they use in Britain and in the Pacific NW, as an alternative to the natural gas we won't be able to afford. (That's not a joke.)
But let's start with the trees. A new hurricane season starts in June.
