A friend who is a big athletics supporter said that SFT addressed a group and said he was going to need their support on something in the near future. It was cryptic.
When the legislature allowed the USM bond issue on the Nov. 2004 ballot, it did so with the proviso that the same bond issue could not be reintroduced for 2 years if it failed at the ballot box.
If SFT plans to bring up the bond again, he'll need to start lobbying boosters and the legislature this fall to prepare for Nov. 2006.
see the USA Today article on athletic spending.....Do you believe it? Where does USM stand in athletic expenditures vs. income? The numbers have been jungled for years. Salries of all USM personnel have suffered to support our jocks.
