Why are you outing Mitch? Are you sure that he's ready to announce this, if true? Why can't you CoEP people just keep it a secret? Don't you have any respect for your colleague? Do you want to muck up his chances?
I find it odd that this post has been up for over 8 hours and no one from CoAL has chastized the poster for outing a colleague.
Hmmm, maybe it's because the good folks in CoEP and CoAL know that the Associate Provost is not leaving the university and it is only the gossipmongers who take a shred of truth and run with it.

To squelch the rumor--I am not leaving the university. I did, however, step down as associate dean and returned to faculty. I sent an e-mail to my colleagues in the college, so this has been announced.
And then there wuz one wrote: Mitch wrote: I am not leaving the university. I did, however, step down as associate dean and returned to faculty. Will there be a replacement or will Willie wing it alone?
fortunately dana had appointed a second associate dean(after an extensive search!!) a few weeks ago...... isn't it wonderful that we have the benefit of such a visionary such as dana...
I agree. Fortunately, there exist a precious few former members of CISE who are about to challenge the Visionary Dana. One is outed, the other two or three are close-by. If Shelby stands by his daughter, it will be his ultimate demise. If one teaches education, one should have a background in it. Dana doesn't.
If USM Hattiesburg faculty were really sensitive to the needs of USM Gulf Park faculty, the Hattiesburg folks would resign their positions, move out of their homes and offices, leave town, and make way for the new "special class" of academic-- the Katrina survivors among the USMGC faculty.

Now that's just absurd. I know of several who have GC faculty camped out with them. Who is at YOUR house?? What have YOU done to help?
