Khayat says salaries top priority for year

University of Mississippi Chancellor Robert Khayat had one word for faculty members at a fall faculty meeting Wednesday: "salaries."

"After five straight years of budget cuts to the tune of $100 million for all state universities, salary enhancement is our top priority," Khayat said. "It will take $8 million to get University of Mississippi salaries up to the midpoint of the Southern University Group....
