more on missing contract story

I heard last night about the story on one of these 2 people (unless this is a separate story altogether and there are more than 2 involved; actually, probably is so).  The chair gave this person a verbal warning back in December that no contract would be forthcoming this Summer.  They were simply told to find a post elsewhere.

Since it was already December/January, they were screwed.  What happened was they were being told all Spring by other faculty that the chair was bluffing, so they ceased any search by March.  Well, the chair came through on the deal.

They have tried to visit SFT by can't get past Odom (SFT is involved?).

So far no one has been able to verify any of these "stories" by posters whose names are not familiar to this board.  Faculty Senate officers have received no information about these "stories".  None of the storytellers provide any evidence, names, departments or even college that would allow an investigation to verify statements.

This post claims, "The chair gave this person a verbal warning back in December that no contract would be forthcoming this Summer."  As far as standard operational procedure at USM, I say this is bogus (unless you are discussing adjuncts or part time hires).  And even in those cases such a notification is usually by letter.

I was going to claim this is a new type of troll, but I will wait on that designation for now.

It's me Shelby.  Crofts didn't send me a contract yet, that dumb@$$.  I'm pissed.  Spoke with Hanbury this morning, taking this baby to the Supreme Court.  Roy, where are you Roy?  Help a drinking buddy out.

Thank you.  I used "spoiler" and "thrill seeker" designations back on FireShelby - a combination?

A good idea.  Why don't you coin a new term for this activity.  You will be famous!
