President Thames once again announced that he does not intend to retaliate against anyone who has been critical of his presidency. Professor Judd, still using crutches because of his broken knee-caps, indicated that he hoped this would indeed be the case, while Professor Young, phoning in from her hospital room and speaking with difficulty because of the traction device, echoed the sentiments of Professor Judd. Meanwhile, Hattiesburg Police announced that there are still no leads in the disappearance of Professor Henry.

My personal scribe is typing this response in to remind you of my broken fingers . . . .

Oops! Sorry for forgetting that. I understand that they went after one "symbolic" finger with particular gusto so that it could never be used against them . . . .

Sorry for the delay -- my scribe went to the bathroom and never returned. I found a note in next to my walker: "Sorry . . . . forgot I had a vacation scheduled in Cancun . . . . don't bother looking for me."
It is hell to find a new scribe but I managed -- you are so right about that special digit.
I heard that the CoH and the CoB no longer have a representative on the Council. I also heard that based on yesterday's meeting, the group is now a lovefest.

I suspect the above was posted by an impostor (or else SJ's scribe really isn't on the lam), as there are no missspellings involved!

That is correct. It was just a tad insulting to imply that only a COEP butt kisser would be appointed to the PUC.
My remark was based on the fact that one of the few CoEPers with guts is rotating off.
Whoa! You don't know us very well, do you? "Few" is BS. It insults people like Olmi, Turner, Rachel, Arnau, Jordan, Bradley, Blackwell, Sims, Tingstrom, Alford, Leach, Lyddon, Watson, Agler, Nicholson, Walker, Luce, Chris and Tammy Barry and on and on. How about holding off on the insults, and look at your own college.

It's about time COEP was identified as a unit with some guts. I was beginning to question that.
I echo the previous poster. Many of us have wondered, all can see the sticky situation in your particular college, and I personally applaud those in the CoEP who have to be, in many ways, the bravest of all if they don't go along with the status quo of DT.
Olmi, yes. Berman, yes. Other psychology people perhaps. Greer, definite yes. Luce, absolutely. The others will only be determined by their actions. Lord help anyone who flies against the tenuous and dilatory whims of DT.

The business of your department should be of no concern to anybody in another discipline.
Have the FS reps to the PUC posted their "impressions" of the meeting yet? Myron and Ray were quick about it as a rule, and I'm curious to why I haven't seen anything yet. You're usually the source on here, IIRC, so let us know when we might expect something if you know.

David, As you know Joe Olmi and Bobby Middlebrooks are now the Faculty Senate Reps to the PUC. I was told yesterday that Joe is very busy, but working on his impressions. He hoped to get it out today.
I knew Bobby Middlebrooks was back on as an FS rep, but didn't know Joe Olmi was. That's two great reps! I'm sure everyone is busy and I hope I didn't seem pushy. I'll look forward to hearing what Joe has to say about it when he finishes it up.
Folks, its been an exceptionally busy last couple of days for me. I will be getting the PC happenings on the Faculty Senate listserv this weekend. Bear with me just a bit.
Thanks for the update. Sorry things have been hectic and I hope I've not added to any pressure to get your impressions done. Was just wondering if you were going to chime in, which, obviously, you will when you have time.
