That website was last unpated in July, 2004. Maybe things have changed since then.

I seem to recall a rumor on this site that Chambers did not get tenure. Is this true? (There was also a rumor that he was leaving that was unsubstantiated.) I'd be curious to know the truth. I've got the picture of him at the protest from the C-L in my scrapbook.

Dr. Chambers is probably the only one who knows the truth. Now that you know how to contact him why don't you call him and ask him?

Thanks to all who replied. The mere fact that the SQ is published at USM is further evidence of the excellent reputation the university enjoyed for many years in the humanities, especially English. I hope the journal has not been injured by all the recent shenanigans of Shelby.

i've heard that some of the operations of the southern quarterly have been shifted to the library.
