Financial Affairs is relocating to Bond Hall, 2nd Floor (entrance from the 4th Street side of the building) during the last week of June. Office will be closed on Wednesday, June 29th and Thursday June 30th and we appreciate your patience as we make this move. Our phone numbers and box number will remain the same.
In addition, Financial Affairs is becoming The Office of the Controller(Controller'Rs Office) to better align ourselves with university standards and adopt a more recognizable departmental name. We will also be changing the SOAR-FIN source code for our department from FA to CO.
As a reminder, the Controller~Rs Office provides the following services to the campus community:
- Payroll
- Financial reporting, both internal and external
- General accounting
- Interdepartmental invoice processing
- Chart of accounts/signature authority maintenance
- Designated and agency funds ~V account set-up and maintenance
While we will have a new location and a new name, we will continue to providethe same quality customer service that you are accustomed to receiving.

Darn it. New name but same old quality? I was hoping they'd provide better quality customer service than before.

Maybe they can find that half pint of gin that my buddy No-good Thurgood hid in his dorm room in 1973. Hid it & hid it so well he never found it. Still owes me $3.55 for it, too.
I've heard that under good leadership Lassen could be salvageable.
Maybe so. He's certainly bright enough but it's hard to know who he really is underneath all the unctuous a$$-kissing behavior. Lassen may have already destroyed his credibility at USM by his unflagging allegiance to Thames.

Thanks for answering, HJF. 'Fraid those are my thoughts too. The greatest challenge ahead is the rebuilding, especially when it needs to be done around the obstacles in place.
I believe the "interim" Controller is now the Controller. Was the position ever advertised? The "interim" was appointed upon the departure of Dana Keith.
