Who is seeker?
Permalink Closed

Here's what we have profiled:

A USM graduate from business school.  Either marketing or management.  Graduated between 1991-1999.  Lives in Hattiesburg (city limits, not Oak Grove).  Works on campus, in an administrative type of situation.

[Seeker says he is 27/28 years old, graduated from USM in marketing in late 1990s, and lives in Virginia.  Some of this is possibly correct, some not.]

I think it's correct, and if my memory wasnt' shot, I could tell you his name. At least there was a letter to the editor a while back from some young alumni in Richmond VA. Why should he lie about where he is? He never had to say anything at all.

At one time he indicated that his family has lived in Hattiesburg for a very long time. He does not seem to be a newbie or an outsider.

Something Seeker said sounded like he might be in some sort of training position in Richmond.

And if we found out who he is, then what? I don't understand the purpose of this.

Let me narrow your profile for you.

Seeker is a USM graduate from the business school, between 1998-00. He owns a house inside the city limits, but is currently renting it out (to his slack ass brother, who he fears is destroying it at this very moment) while he is working in Richmond. Has a lovely wife who is also a graduate of the USM business school in the same time period.

I have never worked on campus, unless you count serving in student govenment. I have been offered a traveling job, that would allow me to move back to Hattiesburg in the next six months. Not, that I would be working in H'burg, but my work would take me all over so it would not matter where I lived. Having a bit of reservation on moving back because I don't have much faith in city government at the moment.

I didn't know I was so popular.

No patience for neophytes.  There was a website going away party for him this time last year when he moved to Richmond.  He's the real deal.  With all his quirks, he is part of this community - literally and figuratively.  Give it up.

His spelling skills suggest that he probably finished the public schools within the past twenty five years.

I am convinced that Seeker has concocted a bogus story to support his false identity. I'd bet a small car that he's in Hattiesburg right now, just as he was this morning, yesterday, and almost every day before and since. He's said some interesting things that have led me to believe this, but I will gather information from his posts before I spout my theory. Nothing like a web of deception with a bunch of holes in it.

When did this become the Seeker board? I thought it was the USM Academic Freedom board. Is this a sign of the end times?

You are correct, Hattiesburg High Class of '95.

Some of Seeker's previous stratements led me to believe that he knows very little about Richmond.

Shouldn't that be Canebrake Kin?

Disabling Adblock in Firefox may be worth it for pure amusement. The last ad banner on this thread was "Are you a genius or a jackass?"

I'm really convinced that the "viral marketing" guys have got some pretty trick algorithms working on this board...

In a great many cases, they are one in the same.

I don't make my living selling Mary Kay cosmetics from a pink Corvette, Ken. I'm a long distance truck driver of an 18-wheel Kenilworth. Now buzz off, Bud. before my wife gets angry.

Somebody suggested that Seeker might be working on campus. I think that is why this thread went in that direction.

Actually the pink corvette has nothing to do with Mary Kay. Barbie drove a pink corvette in the '60s, and in fact I have my sister's right here in the study, along with the complete Suzy Goose bedroom suite, which has a little framed picture of Ken on the dresser. And let me tell you, that car is PINK.

But somewhere I've missed the connection to Seeker.

It's a fact that I've tried to hide from everyone here, I also drive a Pink Corvette. I sincerely hope you will not think less of me for it.

Well, Seeker, as M. de G. herself drives a " 'vette" --what color? Yellow? I don't think we can be too hard on you.

In reality, I can only wish to have a vette one day. Until then, I will be content in my mid-sized SUV.

AHA!  "Mid-sized SUV" my hiney. More misdirection from the man we call Seeker.  I happen to know that he drives a whorehouse red Hummer with monster tires and fancy chrome wheels with those spinner things in the center.  You can't miss it. He parks it at Barnhill's Buffet every day at lunch.  Check it out.

Personally, I suspect that Seeker is the sort of young person that most folks on this board wouldn't mind having over for a barbeque.

I on the other hand am the sort of old degenerate that most of you really wouldn't want walking down your sidewalk without a police car present on the block!

Miss Information always been partial to 1959 Cadillacs. Pink, of course, but that pre-dates Mary Kay. (Miss I notes that the only thing that will remove Mary Kay lipstick from clothing happens to be an Amway product. She does not believe this is coincidental.)

Here's Miss Information's car...

This is a remarkable coincidence.  Mrs. Cooley also is partial to vintage pink Cadillacs,  but only the ones with tail fins. Could she possibly be related to Miss Information?

Actually, of everyone on this board and the old Fire Shelby board, Invictus is the one poster I always wanted to meet.  Invictus has always been wise with a little bit of wisea$$ thrown in for good measure!
