The Monopoly Board analogy reminds me that we have not heard if any progress has been made on renaming those seven USM streets. I know they won't be called Park Place, Pacific Avenue, Park Place, or Gary Stringer Boulevard. Any news on this?

Shelby would be playing a dangerous game if he really did try to "retaliate." (I know he has sworn in public that he has no such plans, but I take seriously almost nothing that he says.) The firestorm of publicity that would be unleashed might make the G/S affair resemble a backyard barbeque. I'm not sure the IHL would want to have to deal with any more egg on their faces for stupidly deciding to keep the incompetent on for another year. I suspect he'd be gone, pronto. It's your move, Shelby. (My advice: don't move.)

Whether he has the sense to restrain himself remains to be seen.

Speaking of retaliation, what is this I hear abour NEW evaluations of deans by chairs? Havent those evals been done this year?

I could only suppose that deans will be re-evaluated in order to shake loose a couple of deans so Shelby Thames can get rid of them. Doty and Pierce seem to be in the hot seats right now, at least that's the rumor.

I would appreciate information about these new evals. Seems awful strange to me.

I heard today that faculty will soon be required to fill out a FAR each month in addition to the annual FAR. Is this true? It seems like a way for SFT to get rid of faculty who have an unproductive month or two, followed by a very productive month. Something like "You took 2/3 of the quarter off! You're fired!"
