I get reports from people passing the Trent Lott Center that they haven’t seen any work on the building in a couple of weeks. When they pass the site they see all of the equipment, but nothing is moving and there are no people working. Does anyone on this board have any info about this? Can you confirm or refute this rumor?
Due to safety concerns many constructions companies do not allow employees to work during rain. Lightning is a BIG problem for insurance companies who insure the construction companies.
Regarding the construction "speed" give em a break huh? A lot of the early work is done in phases due to laying the foundation, etc.
At what stage have they stopped? Have they just poured the foundation? Doesn't it have to cure? All kinds of things could be going on. Let's not drag the contractors into our stuff here. They're just working guys (yeah, I know some of 'em are SFT buddies and all that, but not the schmoes doing the work.)
I received the following from a very reliable source:
I was on campus Monday taking a tour of construction sites with Rusty Postlewate . There were people working down inside the foundation. They probably wouldn't be very visible unless you're really eyeing the site. Rusty says the steel should start going up soon and show some progress.

When the steel starts going up, we should be able to get an idea as to how the TLC will block The Rock. I think someone has mentioned this before - it is ironic that a building named for a former Ole Miss cheerleader will be located adjacent to the USM football stadium.
