My write-in vote is: 'Makes me laugh and then think.' Please see that it is entered on the talley sheet.
As somebody mentioned previously, posters may be reluctant to execute a ballot in this particular manner because of the extreme and justifiable suspiciousness that has been created on campus. That's why I am casting this write-in vote.

Ditto. Part of what created (and sustained) our sense of community has been the humor-triggered thought. Thanks MdG.

OK, so here we see that 1/3 of the respondents think MG is just plain goofy, 1/3 believe her to be thought provoking, and a 1/3 believe her to be worthy of praise. Myself, I don't like such persons in "real life" much less jest.
Which one don't you like, Monique or the secretary? and why? I understand it takes a lot of effort to do these two characters, and it's only been kept up because people asked for it to be. It's supposed to be a joke.

its one thing to create entertainment with characters, but characters that personify arrogant crap - that's just plain annoying.
Okay, okay already! I promise to stop coming over to the homes of all those who don't like M de G and holding my gun to your heads to force you to read her posts.

Actually I love the line "it hurts my eyes to read such nonsense." That's exactly why I can't read the letters from our Great Leader. They literally hurt my eyes. And my head. And my stomach.
I have in on good authority that M de G is somewhat modeled on Miss Piggy. Now tell me you don't like Miss Piggy.

There is the heart of the problem. It's a type of humor you just don't care for. Like I don't care for slapstick and never have and never will. Personal taste. All I can say is, don't read it. And if you see an older yellow 'vette weaving down Hardy Street, watch yourself.

Allow the lady (ladies as the case may be) to continue. Humor has it's benefits. Enough said.
Thank you all for your comments. One tiny correction: I am not French, I am British. I know M. de Guerre joins me in appreciation, although she is rather startled to learn that she is "modelled" upon anyone, particularly Miss Piggy. However, we both admire Miss Piggy's courage and can-do attitude. I will have to say that her fashion sense does remind me somewhat of Mademoiselle's, particularly in the matter of feathers. Pleasant weekend to all.
