Cecil Burge was a professor in the School of Engineering Technology (a unit of COS&T) when he moved to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, then continued up to serve as assistant administrator in the office of the Vice-President for Research and Extended Programs. When Karen retired and Don Cotten moved on, Cecil moved upward to VP for Research. He's a good man who's unfortunately been 'tarred with the same brush' by serving in the Thames administration.

You forgot the part where Angie D. was VP for Research after Don left. After Angie went back to her first love (the non-academic life), Cecil then moved up to VP for Research.

Wrong - he was not a professor in the School of Engineering Technology. He was a professor of Computer Science and Statistics. I have a degree from the department, knew him from before I started college. He was CSS, not SET.
