I just got on the board and saw the thread title for which I have long been waiting.  But, how effective or efficient could a 2 year search be?  Will good candidates apply for a job that is not open until May 2007?

My thought is that we'll all just tread water for about a year, and then the real search will begin.  If I'm right, that'll be a waste of time and resources, won't it?
