USM's 9-12 loss last night in the Big Easy to New Orleans damaged the RPI ranking a good bit. USM fell from #25 to #33 over night. The last home stand (starting tomorrow) is very big. Houston, this weekend's opponent, is coming off a recent victory over national power Rice. This may bode well for USM. South Florida handled the Florida Gators in a mid-week series last week only to stroll into Pete Taylor and lose 3 of 3.
Tracking RPI movements over last couple of weeks: 24, 28, 29, 32, 33, 30, 36, 33, 32, 31, 33, 32, 27, 25, and 33 (this morning).
Today's HA (sports page) contains a listing of USM athletes that graduated on Friday. Check it out.

Just for informations sake......expect USM's RPI to improve over night.
UNO is tied with LSU in the 11th inning. UNO will get a boost just for playing LSU, in turn USM will get a small boost. Now if UNO can pull the upset it will be a marginally bigger boost.

Attention, folks who think CPR is anti-athletics: This is a very positive note. While sports fans sometimes hate to see good players graduate, at the same time each graduation means that those athletic scholarships have been put to good use.
Congratulations to all USM athletes who graduated this year! (Heck, congrats to everybody who graduated.)
