With much alarm I have read the "EagleTalk" remarks on that thread that Reporter so kindly pointed to. Alors, who are these people? Do they have educations? Do they have knowledge of the larger world? One shudders to think what they must drink, and some of them surely have had too much of it. Such unthinking and ugly remarks. I shall not read them again.

Eagle Persons, you know nothing. You are imbeciles -- you think it is hateful and wrong for people who are devoted to a profession to defend themselves and defend their beloved school? You make me very sad to live in the same community as you. When your hero Thames has laid waste to all, where will you Eagles soar then?

I am taking the Vette out of the garage right now and going for a drive to clear my thinking. Such idiots. Sacre bleu!

Robert Campbell will bve amused to know that he is now a celebrity on EagleTalk. Way to go, Robert!

I'll have to mention this EagleTalk thread to David Beito, who runs Liberty and Power.

Though at the pace the EagleTalkers are traveling, Thames will be retired before they figure out that I'm not some kind of enforcer for the national AAUP.

LOL! Well, Roberto, there are more than a few 15 watt light bulbs on that board, but there are also some pretty bright halogens.

I just love the phrase "athletic supporter"...

I'm afraid that the few EagleTalk threads that I have read, courtesy of hot links posted here, have led me to the conclusion that the community on EagleTalk resembles the old aphorism, "If you can't be an athlete, then be an athletic supporter . . ."
