There will always be unfortunate denials of some sort or another when Shelby is involved in anything.

Word on the street indicates that the UAC will be dealing with several appeals regarding this year's adverse promotion and tenure decisions. Recall that the new faculty handbook incorporates an appeal procedure requiring dissenting parties who do not agree with the recommendations of those above / below to justify their position in writing. Best of luck to those who are facing this issue - stand firm in your convictions against the arbitrariness of this adminsitration.
