Makes Good Use of Time

"We, the public, do not give you carte blanc to be insubordinate or use the time we are paying for to lobby for your personal causes. For those who cannot support President Thames we ask to please leave. We feel that the university will be much better off without you and you will be happier in a less outcome-orien"ted setting."

Moved this off the departures thread above.

So, you want to talk about proper use of university time and money? Then ask somebody why your boy Shelby USED to be a VP and then suddenly went back to being a professor until he became president.
Insubordination? First time I've ever heard it called that.

Nah-uhn, Patti. An old friend, just reviving a bit of information that doesn't need to be forgotten. I'll email you.

Tha't me eating my words.  I did indeed get an email from C.A. and the person explained the post.  Therefore I wanted to come back and apologize to C.A. for my calling them a troll.  C.A. is not a troll.

And yes, C.A. after reading your email, you are right, how did that happen?  I guess we will never know or understand how you can go from being VP to prof to president, especially with the history he has.

Yeah, and it involved "in subordinates."

It was just there waiting for someone...

Once again, the hypocrisy may arguably be worse than the crime.  The poor judgement certainly was.

Please note that the professors who are "outcome-oriented" are the ones that ARE leaving. Noel Polk, who has stacks of books to his credit. Gary Stringer, whose Donne project is internationally known. Other faculty who went to Tier 1 and Tier 2 schools wouldn't have gotten there if they were not "outcome-oriented." Don't buy Shelby's lie that he's chasing away the unproductive. The ones that leave wouldn't be able to leave unless they had already been very productive.

I'm not the originator of that quote. I pulled it down from the departures thread, didn't want to clutter up the other thread. I totally agree, "I did leave" -- it's a completely stupid statement.

Sorry--I know you didn't, but the formatting just happens. There are double quotations around it, but most people wouldn't notice those.
