It's no secret how I feel about David Tisdale. He bleeds black and gold. Come to think of it, that could be indicative of a serious medical problem. Anyway, I support David Tisdale 110 percent.
GodwinGroup has been running USM's PR office for all this time. It makes sense they would choose the next PR "leader."
If choosing from within, Tisdale would be logical choice, but he deserves better. He is well liked and kind to most. No one else in the office is qualified, though. All the pros have been run off - Kirkpatrick, Hearn, Mitchell, Kemp, Cutrer, Wade, another woman I can't think the name of - all gone now. Walk the halls of the PR offices and it's a shell of its former self. One student recently told our class, "You can feel the decay and neglect when you are in there."
I suspect the Godwin Group has profited handsomely from the Thames administration and will be only too glad to keep its hand in the pot by providing "guidance" on the selection of a new PR director. Lisa was supposed to implement a "branding" or "imaging" campaign at Godwin's direction, and a part of that goal was reducing an effective news and media relations operation to insignificance. That's because successful news and media relations operations have to be based on truth and integrity. Well, they've certainly "branded" the university, but certainly not in a positive way. And it will take many years to remove the brand.
