Turn to your academic calendar and notice that we have exactly three school weeks until commencement. Summer is almost here. The weather is great. For many, this summer will be a time of research and a respite from Thames' shenanigans (as he has historically shown no interest in stirring the hornet's nest during the break).
So many faculty are counting the number of classes until commencement...one, in fact, told me the other day that he felt like a little kid who couldn't wait for summer break to get here.
I agree with your post FTJM. I decided to take this weekend off, and it has done wonders for my psyche. Sunshine, yardwork, sweat, and relaxation: I think I had a Zen moment in my backyard.
I have wondered if SFT has avoided making sweeping changes during the summer because he knows it would not inflict as much swift pain to concerned faculty & staff.
