Post one more word about Raines, and I'm going to get on.............. Reply top of the Administration Building with a high powered rifle and start shooting.

And they said there posts advocating violence on the AAUP board? If a faculty member or student said this on campus, they would be arrested......

I sent an e-mail to Reuben Mees at the American, giving him the URL of that latest comment, as well as some background. We'll see if it goes anywhere with it.

The CL might want to see it as well. They're the ones running with the story.

Retired Prof, can you send your info along to Tim Dougherty at the Clarion Ledger? I think he very well may be interested (plus I think he's a USM grad, if I'm not mistaken).

Done, I think. (I had to guess at his e-mail address).
Let me get this straight: one upper administrator jokes about lynching a reporter, another person with prominent ties to the upper administration jokes about shooting people with a high-powered rifle, and WE on this message board are accused of having violent tendencies?!?!?!
It's interesting to read EagleTalk and see how many of the posters there are worried about the potential damage of signing a convicted football player, all the while ignoring the damage already wrought by Shelby.
And LVN is right: second chances for the manslaughtering football player and the coed-groping coach but none for fired professors who merely questioned the fraudulent credentials of yet another upper-level administrator.
We live in a strange universe.
I think I need a beer.

My bad...he's not a USM grad. But he's been on this story from the beginning. And here's his email address: tdoherty@clarionledger.com
