Monitors the assessment process throughout the semester.
Collects data for each class at the end of the semester.
Organizes, analyze and report data.
Make recommendations for improving the assessment process.
Report regularly to the QEP leadership Team
Makes recommendations for faculty dev elopement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be familiar with General Education Core at Southern Miss.
Terminal Degree.
Must hold academic rank of Professor.
These duties will be in addition to candidates’ regular teaching duties. Compensation will be summer pay plus one course release per semester for the upcoming academic year.
Gotta love that "compensation." Who in their right mind would do this when you can earn the same money simply teaching in the summer? As usual USM wants to double, triple, or quadruple someone's workload with a slap on the back as compensation. Enough of this degrading plantation mentality!

That is not an uncommon type compensation package, I assure you ... for junior colleges. (I have seen self-study directors assigned without compensation, BTW, under the "all other duties as may be assigned" contract clause.) My prediction is that USM is going to have some very "interesting" experiences getting its QEP approved.
