While perusing the USM Alumni Association website, I came across this blurb in the Winter 04 edition of the Alumni newsletter (found online at: http://www.southernmissalumni.com/Connections04.pdf --my comments are bolded):
"Southern Miss launched its first-ever comprehensive campaign in July 1997 [launched under Horace Fleming], with a goal of securing $100 million by June 30, 2004. These funds will allow expansion of the research output, nurture economic development partnerships and support certification/accreditation for every program available at Southern Miss [these are SFT's goals that were NEVER vetted by any other campus group that I'm aware of].
The six campaign priorities—merit scholarships, faculty and staff development, Gulf Park campus expansion, libraries and technology, athletics and Founders’ Society membership—were developed with input from staff, administration, development and athletic personnel, alumni and friends of the university who focused on specific concerns that influenced the university’s level of excellence [now these WERE the goals that were decided on MUTUALLY by the constituents mentioned. Fleming understood shared governance. SFT does not, and here's blatant proof]."
Do they really think we are that stupid??? The tide is turning, Shelboo. And the revolution WILL be televised (or at least noted on this board!).
