I spoke with a contact at SACS today. They are very interested in comments by Scott Ross, and have read accounts of outside pressure on him to vote for Shelby. The USM consultant has also provided information to them about Ross' interactions with business people and his desire to replicate the Shelby experiment at other IHL institutions.
Interestingly, I was told that SACS officials did a little digging and got word of Ross and Klumb's plan, along with Nicholson, to oust MSU's Templeton a few months ago. They have even made a few quick inquiries in Starkville and had the information confirmed.
Looks like SACS-disease is spreading to other (more important) parts of the IHL's body.

The conspiracy theory grows...............
Discussion on this board in the past was that if IHL was pleased with the SFT administration (business) model and reorgainzation and "shake-up" at USM, when was IHL going to implement SFT's business "model" at the other universities? Seems there was more truth than fiction in this being Klumb's (and others) plan for our state universities......
King crab must have pretty deep sources at SACS, because ordinarily one would get a resounding "NO COMMENT!" from a staffer in response to these sorts of inquiries.
Right on, Invictus. I'm always a bit leery of these posts with breathless "inside" information. Apologies to king crab if you're the real deal, but we've been burned before.
i was waiting for someone else to say what invictus did. i don't buy that king crab (or another poster who said the same thing) talked with anyone at SACS. they (meaning everyone working at SACS) operate under strict confidentiality rules, as do members of the visiting teams. some have even used SACS information for dissertations, and all sorts of confidentiality rules apply to them as well. if someone were to send this person's post to SACS there would be an internal investigation. even the associate executive director i know never mentions specific schools when he/she talks about funny incidents, and would never talk with me about USM (and I would never ask him/her to compromise their integrity either). and frankly, they are so busy over there they don't have time to keep track of every item that happens at the hundreds of institutions they work with.
Please remember none of this has been confirmed. For those new to this Board, occasionally when people get bored they sometimes start interesting stories to get the fluids flowing. Rumors and speculations then grow without bound.

Yes indeed . . . King crab, if you are legit, can we get some kind of bonafides? I'd be happy to consider an off this site communication via other email accounts.
