"He [Mixon] also said the meeting was not held to "bash professors" although Mixon criticized some comments posted anonymously on the American Association of University Professors Web site calling for violence against meeting organizers."
I don't remember reading any posts here calling for violence. What is he talking about? This is an open and anonymous board anyway. How do we know he didn't get on here himself and post whatever he wanted to and print it out for the meeting? How lame.

Bingo. You hit that nail on the head. No one called for any violence that I can remember. And if they did, how are we to know who did it?
I remember no comments about violence. I do remember a poster suggesting that someone go take pictures of all who entered the meeting. But that was squashed as well as some of those people might be on our side.

Maybe Mr. Mixon was referring to Gulf Coast COO/Economic Development Department Chairman Ken Malone's comments about seeing Hattiesburg American reporter Kevin Walters lynched?
In fact, I heard a faculty member this morning express fears for his own personal safety. This is just part of the effort to make faculty and their supporters look bad. Y'all are all probably in more danger from my elderly mama who has a houseful of guns. Fortunately they're unloaded. I think.

This was, of course, not mentioned at the Big Meeting. As the Church Lady used to say, "How ConVENient . . ."
The fact that they used posts from this board in their meeting (according to a poster on the Tonight's Meeting thread) and that Mixon read some to the media makes me wonder if the recent increase in troll activity may have been, in part, an attempt to produce posts they could use for their meeting.
I read all of the AAUP message board posts to my boss, Bob Mixon's Risk Manager, since Bob can't use a computer himself. Perhaps I confused "violins" with "violence?" They both start with "v," don't they?
