Here's a link to a very interesting piece about the questionable successes enjoyed by states which have hitched up to the ED bandwagon. (In case my attempt to post this link is undermined by my own technological incompetence, I've sent it to Invictus and Truth.) This article should be required reading for those who subscribe to the ED gospel as taught by Thames, Dvorak, and Malone.

Thank you Truth. I'm pleased to be back....I think. I'm in Texas for only a week, then onward to Mississippi for another attempt at completing the lobbying mission. After I temper the diatribe I have planned for a certain IHL member, I'll post it here and invite comments and suggestions. I plan to devote the next few days to practicing and refining my unctuous, used-car salesman persona. You've got to appeal to those folks on their own level. Right?
By the way, is that little Thames fella still occupying the presidential hot seat? I've been hoping that I'd return and learn he was the new paint department manager for Klumb Enterprises.
For a while there both you and Robin Robinsoon were MIA, Austin Eagle. This board knew you were going to see her. You should have heard the rumors that started about you two running off together. I thought you may have done it for the cause.
Wm Raspberry's syndicated piece today on outsourcing is very interesting. It does not address university outsourcing, but it does cover state outsouring.

Dedicated to the cause I am, but, uhhh, I dunno about going that far. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Robinson yet, but if she's as comely as Judge Cooley's bride, then I'll seriously consider metaphorically falling on my sword for good ole USM. As Bryan Adams said, "Everything I do, I do it for you."

Would someone please forward this link to Kevin Walters at the HA? It should provide the basis for a few interesting questions for Thames, Malone, Dvorak and company, given the well documented high cost and questionable benefits of economic development undertakings in Mississippi and elsewhere.
