I just heard that the President's Update letter hangs in box frames above the urinals in the mens rooms of Greene Hall (like sports pages at restaurant bathrooms). This is hilarious.

This reminded me of the days of 2003, when LAMINATED pictures of SFT appeared in campus-wide urinals. Maybe it's time for lamination and non-removable tape (a good use of polymers) again?

Suppose that a benefactor contributed a sizable amount of money through the USM Foundation with the proviso that the money would go to purchase that particular toilet paper. Would the Foundation refuse to accept the money?
One would think that the donation would be routed into a foundation account, handed over to a money manager who would place it in an investment account and then withdraw it and deposit it into the president's discretionary fund, where it would be used to buy more new light poles that don't match the old light poles on campus.

If I gave money with the understanding that it would go to purchase that unique toilet paper, and they went and bought light poles with it, I'd tell them what they could do with those light poles.

What a great idea! In honor of the Night Chalker, there should be a decorate the Dome with Gnomes night where everyone in the 'burg places gnomes around the dome & campus. I would pay for a photo of that! I think the first week in March would be appropriate.
He lives in an imposing mansion on Jamestown Road. Do not do anything to this house or yard. It actually belongs to US (taxpayers) and USM employees would be the ones to clean up any mess. Have a little pity on those people. (It's a funny vision, I have to admit, but vandalism is not the way to go.)
I once heard that when the Jametown house was first dedicated the president at that time told the faculty that it was "their" house also. I never had the guts to stop on Jamestown Road and walk into "my" house.

I think the Foundation actually owns the house (not USM therefore not publicly owned, or is the Foundation public or private, I never understood how that worked), but you are right that USM employees would have to clean anything up.
I was there and that was Dr. Lucas. He was very gracious. Guests and students took tours of the house. Dr. Lucas greeted each one personally and showed them his study. He talked about the importance of the desk in his study. It was a very enjoyable time and I'll always remember his hospitality.
