Today's American article is up. Tell me that the President of the Mississippi Institutes of Higher Learning isn't responsible for the following:
Klumb said it was not clear to him if Grimes' instructions would have affected Southern Miss' accreditation. He called SACS regulations about the matter "very technical stuff."
Yesterday, the IHL board -- and I believe Klumb is indeed speaking for the entire board -- abdicated its responsibility & authority to oversee higher education in Mississippi. If they don't want to "understand" it, they just defer to the "professionals" on campus.
"We farmers don't understand the technicalities of henhouses, so we're going to let Mr. Fox here run ours."

Mississippi politics. If SACS is too "technical" for the frigging head of the IHL board to understand, then perhaps he should step aside and let someone who can understand it run the board. But we all know that most Mississippi board and commission appointments are rewards for party loyals and suck-ups.
