Word on the street is that Thames has an agreement with the local postmaster to provide a summary of all postage revenues generated on items mailed to other university addresses (particularly those addressed to Chair, Search Committee). Apparently, he is wanting to add this to the ED part of his FAR.

I saw a faculty member mailing a pile of manila envelopes the other day at the P.O. as I was leaving from doing the same...

Wouldn't that be illegal? Do you mean postmaster at the USM branch, or postmaster for the city of Hattiesburg?
Also, I'm not sure how that would be done. In any case, who in their right mind would mail anything like that from the campus Post Office??
