Any practical, specific suggestions about what we can all do to put maximum pressure on the IHL before the next meeting? I sent them another e-mail today, but I am never sure whether these are even read.
I've sent letters via USPS but have received not one acknowledgement. I don't know if they read them, weigh them, or just pitch them in the circular filing cabinet.
What about phone numbers? Anybody have the board members phone numbers?
In light of today's revelation that Crofts ordered Thames to write yesterday's apology letter, the key is--with greater urgency than ever-- to put the heat on Ken Malone.
Personally, I've long doubted that writing to the Board does any good at all. Most of the Board members ignore anyone with opinions contrary to their own. The Robin Robinson interview, in which she said her mail was all pro-Thames, pretty much summed it up.
What's requiring the Board to act is the glare of publicity. It has to fall on Malone now. Get the word out that Malone was behind the efforts to break down CoB, that he was present at the January 21 meeting that Grimes claimed to be netting out in the Black Friday memo, that he relayed Thames' orders to Grimes. That when Grimes goes, he'll be replaced with another donut-hole Provost-- and there will be more trouble, until Thames and Malone are both gone.
Lisa Mader is already out of the picture. If the heat is applied to Malone, he and Thames will have to defend themselves in public. And nothing Roy Klumb says on their behalf will help them now.
Is there any hope that the CL will run the HA story on Crofts? It would be nice if his remarks got WIDE circulation throughout the state, especially in the capital (and capitol).
Just sent the Crofts article to the whole legislature, the senate and house committees on higher education, and the USM alumni board. All the e-mail addresses are at the top of this board, and it takes only a few minutes to copy-and-paste. Maybe if we deluge them with copies of the article they will start to pay attention.
