Robert, once again, I thank you for your intelligent and helpful narratives on the USM situation. I hope that you'll be able to attend the message board "coming out" party once SFT is "relieved" from his position in the Dome!

Robert, I heard that the "other" school(s) (in addition to WC and Phoenix) includes Troy (small school in AL with branches worldwide; actually 1 of the largest univs on the globe).

This is the second time the "coming out" party has been mentioned today on this board. I hope that means that #1 Groupie can think about dusting off the "Mr. Wonderful Lifetime Achievement Award" sitting in her collector's cabinet. And I hope a minute or two can be allocated for a brief presentation.

Please don't forget the (real) "Trojans in football," the ones at University of Southern California.

Troy State has indeed changed its name to plain old Troy University. It advertises that it serves students in 13 time zones and 11 countries (through programs at military bases, mainly).

PS:

I should add that, from the perspective of an outside observer, Troy seems to have a MUCH better chancellor than the ruler of USM. His name is Jack Hawkins and (again, speaking as an outside observer) he seems to really understand what a real university is. The people at Troy may have a better perspective, but he is FAR more impressive than SFT.
