My USF Bulls just kicked ass, 72-61, up here in Nitchampburg.  Tell Thames he made a good hire.  With this win, we're just one win shy of 0.500 for the year.

BTW, my players are real proud of your 39-2 vote for a new President.  Jimmy V would be proud --- don't ever give up.

Just got back from the game.  Things are really bleak.  We lost by 11, but it wasn't really that close.  People were talking about the 39-2 vote already, and I saw 2 guys with the Eustachy gangbang t-shirt on.  The whole environment was a microcosm of what USM has become.

What was USF's record coming in?

Eustachy now stands 10-10 at USM.  After 20 games, James Green was 10-10.  But, there are some major differences.  A couple of Eustachy's first 10 wins are against non-1A opponents.  Not so for JG.  And, LE has only 1 C-USA win so far.  JG had several at this point.  We also believe than LE has as many or maybe more home losses already in his first year as JG had after completing his first year.  We're looking into that one.

I his last 80 games as a head coach (60 at ISU and 20 at USM), Eustachy is 39-41.

I believe it was 8-10.

Eustachy has an unenviable slate the next few days: @Marquette, @Tulane, Houston, and @Cincinnati.  That last one could make the Louisville game here seem like a nailbiter.  I suspect Thames' flight home in his new plane that night won't be pretty.  We'd hate to be the pilot.

The pilot, heck. Pity the poor passengers!

According to this afternoon's HA, South Florida was "beatable." Hmmm...

Invictus,

I think what the HA said was that USF's coach thought USM was beatable.

In light of tonight's debacle at Reed Green, the Prognostications Department has revised our outlook on the season, previously posted in another thread:

Regular Season:
USM has 8 remaining men's basketball games:

@Marquette
@$$ whuppin'.
@Tulane
Another that could to either team, though Tulane has a slight edge at home.
Houston
Let's give the Eagle Talkers some hope....
@Cincinnati
big-time @$$ whuppin'.
Memphis
back-to-back @$$ whuppins.
@ECU
This is a coin flip, but don't count out a 3-peat @$$ whuppin (send all royalties to Pat Riley).
@Charlotte
Coach Larry Eustachy quoted after this one: "Man, my butt cheeks are sore from all these whuppins."
TCU
Will anyone care????

Regular Season Recap:
Best Possible Scenario: USM goes 3-5 through the last 8 games, finishing with a 13-15 record.

Most Probable Scenario: USM goes 2-6 through the last 9 games, ending up 12-16 overall.

Worst Scenario: USM goes 0-8 through the last 8 games, going into the
offseason at 10-18 overall.

Post Season:
Don't even think about it. Shelby Thames has a better shot at being named "Administrator of the Year" by the College of Arts and Letters faculty.

Atrocities abound and little hope for rebound. It's time for judgement at Nitchampburg.
