What happened?
Was Coach Green ever removed from a game?

(Just asking -- I don't know too much about USM basketball.)

It would help tremendously if those of you Eagle Talkers would fill us in on what happened. It's the same university, and, in many ways, the same concerns.  Let's figure out what similar interests we need to talk about.

While I was not at the game I can tell you that many times when coaches get booted from the game it is mostly for show.  They are showing support for the team, typically when the team is getting tough calls from the refs.  Not really very different from what happens in baseball.  I agree we should let this one rest.

Eustachy was ejected because he received two technical fouls (automatic ejection on the 2nd).  I wasn't at the game but understand he had reason to be upset with the officials at the time.

And yes, James Green was ejected from at least one game if not more.  It is not that unusual.

Certainly for show, which is why the whole act is so appealing to Larry.  BTW, I listened to the post game wrap up on the radio, where John Cox interviewed Eustachy.  Eustachy went down the roster detailing everything that each player did wrong tonight.  Finally, at the end he gave a muted comment about coaches sharing some of the responsibility for the big loss.  It was the most pathetic display I heard from a coach in a long time.  The great ones never blame everything on players, but this seems to be Larry's usual MO.

Okay, everybody who remembers Gorgeous George raise his/her hand. The nice nurse will be around with our milk and cookies anytime now!

(I didn't realize that getting booted was part of the drama that is basketball. All I know about the game is that when you live in Kentucky, you have to pretend to be interested in it or you can't have a conversation with anybody in the winter. In Kentucky there are counties where there's not a big enough flat space for a high school football field so basketball is the really hot sport. One thing I liked about that, though, was the respect and attention the women players got -- at least at Western Kentucky when I was there. )

As for Bear, well, there are magnanimous people in every walk of life, aren't there.

What the heck does this mean? Is the Sun Herald trying to relegate college basketball to the level of professional wrestling?
