Calvin Wilson, the big OL from HHS, committed to MSU today.  Word had it that SFT was storming around the athletics building early this morning, shouting at the top of his lungs.  But, all the coaches were out on the road recruiting (SFT was looking for Bower --- to curse him out for letting another blue-chip local).

Word has it that Wilson told USM's staff "No, not now" when asked to come to play for the Eagles.  His message was an approved message from here in East Hattiesburg.

Could someone explain the meaning of "No, not now" for those who don't live in Mississippi or work at USM. Thanks.

operation "no, not now" is the name of the anti-bond referendum movement from citizens of (primarily) east hattiesburg.

Stop trying to portray the defeat of the bond issue as an east Hattiesburg thing.  Anti-Thames citizens, even those of us who work at USM have long ago pledged to obstruct every numbskull thing that man proposes.  But you are right - the logo was organized by Hattiesburg citizens upset that so much is spent in white flight west Hattiesburg and so little in downtown.

Angeline,

Why don't you re-read that post? The anti-bond referendum movement known as "No, No Now" was initiated in East Hattiesburg. Other parts of Hattiesburg played a key role in defeating the issue, but the phrase "No, Not Now" did not originate from USM faculty. Why don't we stop trying to grab others' struggles for our own benefit?
