..."In Hattiesburg, USM President Shelby Thames and professors Frank Glamser and Gary Stringer reached a settlement after nearly two months of accusations.
Thames suspended the two professors in March after he said they misrepresented themselves and the university while investigating Angie Dvorak, vice president of research and economic development.
The move sparked protests and debates on the Hattiesburg and Long Beach campuses, and faculty members gave Thames an overwhelming vote of no confidence.
The hearing lasted about four hours, during which time only Thames testified. After that, the parties reached a settlement in which the two professors will be paid for two years, but they will not teach or have offices on campuses.
The state College Board unanimously approved the settlement but met with Thames later in the month to talk about USM's future.

I thought that the faculty also expressed its lack of confidence prior to the time the president took office. This article seems to have omitted that part of the no confidence dimension.

The Faculty Senate had a vote of no confidence the Sunday before the general faculty vote. The Senate voted for no confidence was unanimous, 30-0 (I believe). The faculty vote was 430 – 32, “No confidence” edged out “confidence”.

Oops. Sorry I didn't read closely Two Timer. The AAUP conducted a poll after the presentations by each presidential candidate. For SFT the poll was something like 85% "unacceptable".
