I'd like to know the latest on this one as well.  After the IHL Board meeting, I want to post an entry on the incident at Liberty and Power (it's the most important among the items I didn't get to during September and October).

All,

AAUP-USM has a committee A investigation that is nearly concluded.  The chair of that committee sent out requests for information from the administrators involved in the incident.  Also, an interview with Dr. Stevenson was conducted.  We should be getting a final report soon.

At a meeting of the Gulf Coast faculty leadership council on Monday, Ken Malone DID apologize for his role in the Gulf Coast incident. He seemed genuinely contrite and promised that he would never repeat his actions on 12 October. As chair of this group, I presided over the meeting; it was attended by elected representatives of the Gulf Coast resident faculty in each of the colleges. Mr Malone had been invited to attend this meeting over a month ago,  to address some other issues as well as the Stevenson incident. Dr. Stevenson was NOT present, however.

Our usual procedure is to circulate the minutes of this group, formally called the Colleges Liason Committee (CLC), on the gc-faculty list. When these minutes are complete, some time in January, I'll post them on this site as well. Anyone requiring more info before then can contact me at my webmail account:  wil.watson@usm.edu
