Is it possible, in one of the many venues that SFT inhabits, to have someone (in the media, or a student in Seymores, for example) ask him if he is going to actually seek a new 4-year contract around the time that his original contract expires? (assuming he makes it through his first 4 years)
I cannot help but feel that this question would generate an interesting answer.
If he states that he is planning to retire, maybe a lot of people can breathe easier?? Just wondering.

I'm working under the assumption that Shelboo will do anything and everything to inflict himself upon this institution for another four years.
I hope no one puts that question to him. I know the answer, but I would like to have a few months thinking he may go. Don't ruin my Christmas by reading his answer in the paper with a picture of Klumb at his side with his hand on SFT shoulder. Ugh #**!$#&&%#@!!!
I think I remember a reporter from The Student Printz or maybe WDAM ask Thames last year at one of the "Tuesdays at Two with Thames" meetings. The answer, as we all know, was yes.
But, if he would announce an interest in another "term" as "president" would that not give some HUGE energy to a con-Thames movement that has slowed lately?
He could ignite a flame, if prompted.
It's a cold week out there this week - I could use a little warm prompting.
Of course Thames wants 4 more years. It's a power trip....now he gets to save the university. This is not a rational institution or state political scene. If Thames doesn't get 4 more years, I'll be shocked. Thames will think he is a hero. We'll get reaccredited.
Academics, man, always living in a dream world....I am one, and I hope I am wrong about all this, but I doubt it.
