When Shelby taught me chemistry in 1969(or maybe '68) I thought he was a pretty good teacher and a real bright fella.

However, I was wrong...how can he be promoting his internet teaching model and then get whammed for distance learning by SACS, and land on probation?  Was I just young and naive thinking he was smart over 30 years ago or did he just recently take on this new model(however I did run into him in an airport about 10 years ago when he was pitching a fit over a canceled flight due to weather, "I have an appointment in D.C., I want to talk to somebody and I mean NOW!!")

In my world now, we take accreditation pretty serious(not SACS) seems like they (Shelby, IHL, etc) are treating this as a minor set back.

If USM looses accreditation, does that mean I have to take chemistry again?

Even worse... you'll have to start all over with freshman orientation, as a new student. You see, SFT has a goal of 20,000 students by 2007...

Now if I could have a couple of classes of codgers and codgerettes, I might reconsider my decision not to teach anymore!!
