Four years later, I couldn't even remember the exact date (selected, protective memory loss?), but for some reason, I looked at the message board this morning.   Robert Campbell's "one year later" column was horrifying.   What a hero he was--as was Kevin.  

In the meantime, the latest volume of the Donne Variorum got an excellent review in the Times Literary Supplement and the Donne Society continues to meet at LSU.   Gary continues on the faculty at A&M and is awaiting the results of another NEH grant proposal.   I am fully retired and have become a volunteer for several arts organizations.  

We think of you all and continue to wish the best for USM faculty and students.

I was just at a meeting where someone asked me how USM was doing. They had read about the previous administration in Chronicle of H.E., but didn't realize we had a new president. I was happy to report on the improved situation.
