Those of you left in the USM community, what do you think about a MIDAS Touched Dept. who have yet to follow due process in the tenure and promotion process. The people going up for promotion, both at the associate and full level, and those combining associate with tenure have YET to receive a departmental review as of today 11/15. I hear it Might happen on Monday, but keep in mind it was supposed to happen at the end of Sept. Why does being Shelby's daughter, make Dana's mistakes as CISE chair perfectly acceptable, even when others' careers hinge on her sloppy modes of leadership?
Wait a minute, does this place operate under the rules of the Faculty Handbook? I teach at another univ. and was considering an opening listed in the Chronicle. A good friend of mine told me to check out this website. I've heard that the univ.is in some trouble. but this looks unreal.

Potential applicant,
See the Chronicle of Higher Education article about USM from last March (it was on the front cover), and the follow up pieces. Check back in here if you have additional questions.
Unless you are completely unemployed, I would not bother wasting your money on the postage to apply. I have taught at 6 institutions, and USM is the biggest disaster I have seen in my entire academic career. The faculty there are wonderful, but the administration is evil.
