A strategic alliance with Microsoft!!! Most universities have had this set-up for ages. But USM, being the innovative leader, that no one in the community cares about (RG), has done the remarkable.

Some years ago didn't USM have a Vice President for Academic Affairs say he was going to make USM the most computer literate campus in America?

Well, under the Fleming administration, we did have a Chief Information Officer (John McGowan) who modernized the aging computer systems and brought wireless technology to the campus. There was even a story in the Chronicle about it.
Most computer literate? With SOAR? Designed by Neandrathals? I know one (large) department where half the faculty don't even have computers in their offices. They sent out an e-mail telling everyone that all dept. messages would be on e-mail (and of course, half of the people didn't get it).
It must have been Dr. Joseph Goebbels who said this.
