Court issues ruling in Kennard case

"The Mississippi Supreme Court handed down a ruling today that upheld a local decision to exonerate decorated Korean War veteran Clyde Kennard, who sought to integrate the University of Southern Mississippi.


In the seven-page ruling the court rules that neither Richard Barrett, a self-professed white supremacist, nor the five other citizens he listed in his appeal have standing to request that Forrest County Circuit Judge Bob Helfrichs decision on the matter be overturned."
