Can some one clarify which of these positions are replacements and which are new? Under current budget conditions it seems like serious nepotism if Dana Thames's dept. is suddenly hiring tons of new people.

True, yet --- what's more interesting are the last 3 words in the list of Responsibilities. So nice to know what the new buzz words of open faculty positions will be (or more accurately, ARE) -

Dee, you left off: "develop entrepreneurship endeavors:"
I'm afraid we will see these words in all future job descriptions..................
Elementary/Literacy = MM Sulentic, Ada Belton, Michael and Sally Martin - maybe Gloria Slick too. And then there's Gloria Beal who needs to be replaced too. Also there's John Davis's position.
a Secondary Social Studies shoudl be there to = Jesse Palmer
Mark Richmond = I didn't see any openings for Resident Doofus.
How sad, to look at my former department, where I earned my doctorate and ask, "What happened?" It appears they either died (Palmer, Davis & Ada Belton [she came after I graduated]) or were run off or ran.........Sulentic, Martin & Martin, Scott. C & I had a growing talent pool. It was a great department when Dr. Betty Kersh was chair. What a shame that Dana Thames wanted to be queen..........a truly great department has many talented individuals, not just one queen bee. BTW, has anyone ever seen a report of Dana's (pork barrel) literacy grant, secured through the Honorable Thad Cochran? Gosh, a non-competitive grant....where are the roprots, the presentations, that articles?
