Hart wins over faculty
- LONG BEACH --- Gulfport Councilman Billy Hewes asked a question of USM presidential candidate Ann Weaver Hart on Friday that federal law doesn't allow potential employers to ask in job interviews. "What religion are you?" "I'm not affiliated with a formal religion," she replied with a smile, and went on to answer a question about shrinking budgets. But that did not satisfy Hewes, who came back a few minutes later with, "Do you believe in God?" Hart said that she would prefer not to answer that question, and she was hustled out of the dining room on to a meeting with University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast faculty, where the questions were of a more academic variety....
