Miss Information reports from one of the local shelters that she and the other ladies of the Missionary Society will be busy through the weekend tending to displaced families in need.  Invictus has not checked in this morning but there are reports from the Whether Channel that folks finding refuge in the Super Dome were lulled to sleep last evening by Dylan tunes piped in through that massive sound system.  I am well and trying to juggle that very perverse sense of letdown with relief that it missed us and concern for the people who were not as fortunate.


The next Nom d'Aplomb award will consider all pseudonyms from 9/12-9/26.


Mr. Wonderful and committee, are you safe and sound?

Thank you for your concern, Mal. Two of our committee members reside in areas which are yet to be touched by Ivan. As Ivan continues on its path, they will undoubtedly witness some of his wrath. Therefore, I will follow your model and cancel this week's Citation de la Semaine awards. This week's postings will, of course, be considered in the next competition. The committee and I wish to express our concerns for those who have and will be affected by Ivan.

Well, I see that Miss I already made a decision & let Mal know. My cellphone has been going on & off all afternoon (needs a recharge) & I wasn't sure whether she had contacted Mal.

I wasn't at the Dome last night. I hunkered down in the Invictus bunker, playing the following tunes over & over:
