It's beginning to look like Frances may come right over us.  Under what circumstances would classes be cancelled on Tuesday?  What plans are in place for on-campus students?  What do we do if things get ugly during the day on Monday or Tuesday?

i suspect folks will watch the forecast.  given the current forecast, we'd be on the west side of the storm which is better than being on the east side.  might be nothing more than a good breeze and rain--no worse than thunderstorms.  if it does look worse, i suspect they'll cancel classes.  if all else fails, pray!

Crack the windows, lay in a stock of bottled water, flashlight batteries, vienna sausages (no Aramark weinies) & some "hurricane" ingredients for the blender. Then find a rocking chair & wait for further instructions.

I've made my preparations.
There's nothing left to do,
But sit here in this rocking chair,
Waiting for the storm.

WDAM reported that this storm might not be more than just a hard rain on Tuesday.

The 11 PM EDT forecast map from the National Hurricane Center has adjusted the track of the storm more to the northwest (for a secondary landfall around Appalachicola rather than Lower Alabama). The forecast discussion predicts that Frances will not regain hurricane strength when it enters the Gulf north of Tampa.

So anyone who's hoping for an extra day for the holiday weekend is probably going to be (pleasantly) disappointed...

Hope you're right, Invictus.  Done done my hurricane, thanks.  Moved to Biloxi on Aug 10, 1969.  Won't bore y'all with the long story, but you couldn't pay me to live on the beach again.
